main requirements for flatbed cutting plotters for Refineries
Materials used at Refineries and necessary for their repair often have high density, viscosity, and strength, which complicates their cutting on a plotter, and for some plotter models simply makes it impossible. NPZ-PRO series plotters are designed specifically for cutting such materials.
The cutting head must have high piercing capability, large knife oscillation amplitude (at least 7 mm), sufficient oscillation frequency (at least 8000 oscillations per minute) and be compatible with strong and rigid knives, preferably with cylindrical shank. The machine must be equipped with powerful and reliable servo motors, both on X,Y,Z axes and on tangential rotation axes of cutting tools. Servo motors and controllers from the leader are installed on NPZ-PRO series machines. Namely Panasonic A6 series!
For reliable fixation of processed material, the plotter must be equipped with a reinforced pressure vacuum table and a powerful vacuum pump. The vacuum table must be divided into zones that can be activated independently of each other through the machine control panel. NPZ-PRO series machines are equipped with reinforced pressure vacuum tables divided into a large number of vacuum zones. For example, NPZ-PRO-1813 plotter with 1300x1800 mm field has 24! small-sized vacuum zones, which allows simple and reliable fixation on the table of even miniature pieces of material including irregular shape without additional effort and time. Thus, even scraps are used, which ensures significant savings.
Since often material sheets due to improper storage are deformed and cannot be fixed only by even powerful vacuum, the plotter must be equipped with additional clamping means. NPZ-PRO series machines are equipped with such additional clamping devices as clamping plate D=108 mm and clamping rollers, which in turn are equipped with self-unwinding mechanism with covering film for cutting air-conducting and other difficult to process materials.
The main plotter tool cuts materials with a blade, which due to its shape does not allow making holes with vertical walls on thick materials (hole turns out slightly conical), also the knife cannot make holes of small diameters D=0.5-2 mm in materials thicker than 1-2 mm. Therefore you absolutely need such a tool as a hole punch, which has interchangeable nozzles of various diameters and allows making holes at very high speed, descending into material with rotation, which ensures compatibility with a wide range of materials.
